The Gyrotops are a race of herbivorous mammals that inhabit Mistoria. They are hunted by the Zivora.
History[]
The Gyrotops were believed to originate as small, undeveloped herd animals. Some of them remained in herds and began to develop a dependency on the herd and a protective feeling over their young. Because they did not need to fend for themselves, they did not grow much in size, and became stocky. These became the Lesser Gyrotops. Others became loners, and migrated across the planet and fended for themselves. They grew in size and became fast. These became the Greater Gyrotops.
Lifestyle[]
All Gyrotops are herbivores. Greater variants are nomads and loners. They fend for themselves and only the females care for their own young. The Lesser variants live in herds. They help each other find food, and they do not migrate much. They also defend and raise all the young, and the groups have females and males. If the young are threatened, the group will form a protective circle around them. They are normally docile animals, but when threatened and trapped, they will lash out with their horns. They are preyed on by Zivora birds.
